Everything you need to know about diving in Rasdhoo Atoll
For beginner dive sites (Rasdhoo Reef, Madivaru Reef, Madigaa, Bodugaa, Three Palms), you'll need an Open Water certification or equivalent. Intermediate sites require Advanced Open Water certification with drift diving experience. Advanced sites (Hammerhead Point, The Caves, North Channel) require Advanced Open Water plus deep diving specialty and strong current experience. All divers must present valid certification cards and log books.
Water temperature ranges from 26°C to 30°C (79°F to 86°F) year-round, so a 3mm wetsuit is usually sufficient. Visibility averages 20-40 meters, with the best conditions from January to April. Currents vary by site - gentle in lagoons and stronger in channels. We monitor conditions daily and select the best sites for safe, enjoyable diving.
The Maldives offers excellent diving year-round! January to April is peak season for hammerhead shark encounters and optimal visibility. May to November brings manta rays and whale sharks. The southwest monsoon (May-October) offers calmer conditions on eastern dive sites, while the northeast monsoon (November-April) favors western sites. Each season has unique highlights!
Yes! We provide high-quality, well-maintained equipment including BCDs, regulators, tanks, wetsuits, masks, fins, and weights. All equipment is serviced regularly and meets international safety standards. Rental is available for dive computers, underwater cameras, and specialty gear. Many divers prefer to bring their own mask, fins, and wetsuit for comfort, but it's not required.
Rasdhoo Atoll is renowned for incredible biodiversity! Common sightings include reef sharks (grey reef, whitetip), eagle rays, stingrays, sea turtles, Napoleon wrasse, groupers, and thousands of colorful reef fish. Seasonal encounters include hammerhead sharks (Jan-Apr), manta rays (May-Nov), and occasionally whale sharks. Macro enthusiasts will love our nudibranchs, octopus, and crustaceans. Every dive is different - nature always surprises!
